The settlement system is responsible for turning an open prediction market into a final payout.

Current process

Trade execution -> market expiry -> challenge window -> oracle verification -> claim or redemption

The current design emphasizes a defined dispute period before final payout so that contested outcomes can be reviewed through the oracle workflow.

Upgrade path

Planned extensions may include:

• stake-based dispute participation
• DAO-assisted arbitration or governance layers
• broader execution and settlement tooling across a larger ecosystem

The core objective is to preserve credible market settlement while making dispute handling more formalized over time.
